Ahh Paris!

My husband and I recently returned from a week long trip to Paris and both of us can easily say it was the best vacation we've ever had. Technically, I had been to Paris twice before, once as a child and once as a college student. But in both cases we were passing through on our way to another destination so I didn't really see much of Paris. It felt as if this trip was my first authentic Parisian experience.

Spending an entire week in the "City of Lights" gave us just enough time to explore Paris without rushing around like tourists with a checklist. We saw the major sites, cruised down the Seine, biked through the city streets, picnicked in Giverny, visited world-class art museums, shopped in boutiques, and still had plenty of time to linger over delicious lunches in the cafes.

Davis Studio is sponsoring a multigenerational trip to Paris this coming April 23- 30th. The trip is intended for teens, ages 12 – 18 with an accompanying adult. We are excited to be partnering with Karen Kane from Paris by Design for this unique travel opportunity. We have room for a couple of additional people and would love for you to consider joining us.

Trip Details:
April 23-30, 2010
Experience Paris from an artist's perspective!
Join us for a multi-dimensional, multi-generational week of art appreciation in Paris. We'll look, learn draw, and paint - and engage all of our senses as we immerse ourselves in the works of the Impressionists and the city that inspired them.

What's special about this trip?

• Our small group of students and adults will step off the beaten path and back in time as we follow in the footsteps of Monet, and other impressionist painters. This trip is best for students between the ages of 12 and 18 with an accompanying adult.

• Our explorations include a guided tour of city highlights, guided visits to museums, gardens, markets and artists' studios - as well as time on your own to reflect and create.

• You'll receive your own travel sketchbook. Our structured writing & drawing activities, as well as work with watercolors and collage, will help you record your experiences. No previous artistic experience is required.

• We'll prepare you before the trip with workshops on art history, French language, and culture; we'll help you keep the trip alive once we're home.

Visit our website for further details.

Karen Kane of Paris by Design is offering the early bird price to anyone who puts down a deposit prior to November 1st.
